Aregbesola Missing As Atiku Unveils ADC Presidential Campaign Council, With Mark, Ireti, El-Rufai, Oyegun, Momodu On Board (SEE FULL LIST)
The Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has approved a campaign structure his team says is “lean” and “shaped by the realities Nigerians face every day.
“When families are struggling with food prices, transport costs and shrinking incomes, a campaign asking for their trust must show discipline in how it operates.”
The list names Senator David Mark as National Chairman, but the name of the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregebsola, does not feature.
Members include former Kaduna State’s Governor Nasir El-Rufai (Deputy Chairman), who is currently in detention and Senator Ireti Kingibe.
In the campaign council, whose format was made public on Thursday by Phrank Shaibu, Director for Strategic Communication to the ADC Presidential Campaign Council and Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku, Senator Austin Akobundu will serve as Director-General and Campaign Manager, “responsible for turning strategy into coordinated action,” while Kashim Ibrahim-Imam will chair the Council, with Nasir El-Rufai as Deputy Chairman.
Six Deputy Directors-General will lead the operational directorates, working with 30 Directors assigned specific responsibilities.
Dele Momodu will head Media and Communications, while Dino Melaye will lead Contact and Mobilisation.
Mohammed Hayatudeen will chair the Policy Team, working with Professor Mohammed Sagagi and other members, including Professor Kingsley Moghalu, to develop practical answers to the problems Nigerians have put before us. John Oyegun will chair the Campaign Advisory Board.
The statement by Phrank Shuaibu, who published the list, says: “This is a structure built for work. Every directorate has a duty. Every director has an assignment. Every appointee must account for results.
“Our measure of success will be how clearly we address the cost of living, unemployment, insecurity and declining purchasing power—and how effectively we organise to make Nigeria affordable again.”
