The recent decision by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a misstep and should be regarded as a political miscalculation that does not represent the people’s interests and will.

Neither did it reflect the people’s views on this decision or any of his previous decisions since the assault on Rivers State and its people.
Hence, he had locked himself up in a closet seeking help from unusual places instead of standing up to challenge the predators.
He lost the fight against him from the onset when he allowed the chief beneficiary of the gains from the spoils of conspiracy against him and the state have their way with the terms of settlement.
What is left of him is not worthy of a settlement but rather an agreement that is not binding on the people of Rivers State.
It is a matter of time for him to take a hike and go to back to his church routines. Politics in Rivers State has evolved beyond elite movements and opportunistic alignments. The people are politically aware, discerning, and deeply committed to good governance that prioritizes justice, accountability and the pursuit of happiness for all people and their communities.
As such, no mundane interests can overturn the collective resolve of the Rivers’ people.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) remains firmly rooted in the grassroots and continues to gain strength across communities, wards and constituencies in Rivers State.
ADC’s ideology is people centered, issue driven, and anchored on integrity, youth inclusion, and sustainable development.
These are the shared values that resonate strongly with Rivers’ people and their communities.
They have endured for so long, years of recycled leadership failures in the hands of misguided, incompetent and corrupt politicians.
Now is the time for the people to step up their game and stop the madness of these predators by voting for the party that will represent their interests and serve the people of Rivers State.
It is important to state clearly that Rivers State is not for sale, nor is it a political transit camp for personal ambitions.
The people know the truth now and they are ready to take their destiny in their own hands by voting for the best candidate to serve them.
They understand the consequences of the current state of affairs in the nation under APC leadership and they will not accept or tolerate the same fate in Rivers State any more.
The people say enough of motor-park politics in Rivers State and the rest of Nigeria.
ADC’s mission in Rivers State is not about personality only, it is to be built on credibility, trust and genuine engagement with the people.
The party remains confident, focused, and prepared to offer solutions to problems that have held down our nation in the last few decades. ADC has the potential to transform this nation into a better place where life is more abundant, secure and prosperous than it ever has been in the past few decades.
ADC offers a unique approach to achieving its goals by building relationships between individuals and communities, organizations and institutions in ways that will benefit the lives of all people.
The future of Rivers State will be determined by the people not by political mercenaries or transactional politicians driven by self-interest.
ADC is ready, resilient, and unwavering in its commitment to defeating APC at the polls.
Ushering in a new era of people-oriented and responsible leadership and good governance in Rivers State and the whole country is our duty.
