Gov Adeleke Ally Ajagungbade’s Killing In Osun: Slain NURTW Leader’s Mum Reveals She Warned Son Ahead
The mother of slain Osun transport union chieftain, Emir Olamilekan Ajagungbade, has broken her silence for the first time since her son was killed at a motor park in Ile-Ife.
Ajagungbade, popularly known as Emir, a chieftain of the Accord Party and factional leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), in Osun State, was shot dead on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in a suspected clash over leadership of motor parks.
He was buried on Monday according to Islamic rites.
In an emotional video that surfaced on Friday, September 18, 2026, his mother was seen sitting among mourners, tears streaming down her face.
Speaking in Yoruba, the elderly woman said she had long feared that something terrible could happen to her son.
According to her, she had done everything within her power to keep him safe before his death, but acknowledged that matters of life and death rested beyond human control.
She urged those present to go through her phone, saying the messages and conversations there would show how far she went in her efforts to protect him.
