Govt Names Dr. Donald Ibe Ofili Registrar For Med Lab Science Council
The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Donald Ibe Ofili, as the Substantive Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
The appointment was made public by the organisation in a statement this week.
It describes Ofili as an accomplished laboratory professional, global biosafety leader, and champion of quality healthcare.
Ofili is assuming office with a bold vision to strengthen regulation, promote diagnostic excellence, advance laboratory accreditation, and safeguard public health across Nigeria.
The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria is a regulatory agency established by Act 11 of 2003 to regulate medical laboratory services, professional practice, and training institutions in Nigeria.
Its core duties and responsibilities include maintaining an official registry and issues practicing licenses to Medical Laboratory Scientists, Technicians, and Assistants; assessing, evaluating, and registering foreign-trained professionals before they are permitted to practice in Nigeria.
