Kidnapped Christian Widow Killed After Family Couldn’t Pay N12m Ransom In Kaduna
Bandits have killed a Kaduna Christian widow, simply identified as Mama Mary, after her family could not provide the ransom of N12 million imposed by the terrorists.
Security analyst and former Governorship aide, Reuben Buhari, disclosed this in a Facebook post over the weekend.
According to him, the widow was abducted 13 days after she spoke about the plight of refugees in her community, Kateri.
The abductors demanded N10m for her release but her family could raise only N2m.
On August 15, she was chained by the neck until she choked to death.
He wrote: “This is Mama Mary, a widow originally from Ariko village. She moved to Kateri because the growing insecurity around Ariko became unbearable for her family.
“On 15th June, during a protest highlighting the plight of refugees in Kateri, she spoke passionately about their suffering.
“Thirteen days later, she set out for Ariko for something, but was kidnapped on the road, along with three others.
“They demanded N10 million, but the family could raise only N2 million. On 15 August, she was chained by the neck until she choked to death. Her body is still there. She leaves behind four children. Pray for them.”
