Nigerian Female Doctor Promoted Captain In US Army
A Nigerian female medical doctor, Dr. Chi Uzoma, has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Army.
The Nigerian-born medical doctor was promoted to the rank of Captain in the US Army Medical Corps, adding another milestone to a career built around medicine, service and leadership.
Uzoma announced the achievement in a post on X on Sunday, expressing gratitude to God for the journey that led to her latest military rank.
“Today, I proudly wear the rank of CAPTAIN. The journey has been nothing short of a blessing, and I’m deeply grateful to God for every opportunity that has brought me to this moment. 🙏🎖️🪖🇺🇸Captain #Blessed #USArmy.”
The promotion comes a few months after Uzoma revealed that she had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant in March 2026.
At the time, she celebrated the achievement by writing:
“Got promoted to Sergeant today. Grateful to God for the journey, the lesson , and challenges that led to this moment. Proud to wear these stripes.🙏🎖️🇺🇸”
Her elevation has generated much buzz on the social media, especially among her Nigerian compatriots.
