LET THE ‘TINUBU MUST GO’ PROTESTS NATIONWIDE REFLECT IN NEXT YEAR’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press
Fellow Citizens of Our Great Nation, Nigeria:
The purpose of this press briefing today is to address the ongoing situation of the intractable and punitive daily fuel price increases.
But before we go there, let me address a troubling and embarrassing development for Nigeria. When many Nigerians were speculating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was avoiding going to the United States due to outstanding legal matters that could warrant his being given a variant of the Nicolas Maduro treatment we didn’t take it seriously at that time. Now the President has confirmed that he is running away from something in the US. Otherwise, in order to silence his critics the president would have proven a point by personally attending this year’s United Nation’s General Assembly personally in New York instead of sending his Vice.
We make bold to declare that it is utterly irresponsible for the president and vice president of a country to leave the country at the same time as often happens under this president. We need a president who can travel anywhere in the world without fear, suspicions or controversies. President Tinubu has missed an auspicious opportunity to prove to Nigerians that, indeed, he is not running away from the American government.
Now to the business of the day.
This is a delicate but critical juncture in our nation’s history. Across the length and breadth of this country, we are witnessing an unprecedented wave of discontent. The nationwide protests, echoing the cry of “Tinubu must go,” are a direct testament to the resilience of the Nigerian people, who have finally had enough of the punitive, harsh, and insensitive economic policies of the current administration that have further impoverished the people as fuel now goes between N1,500 and N2,000 in some places. Any mistake that leads to the return of this president in 2027, Nigerians should prepare to buy fuel for, at least, N5,000 per litre. That is their target because they have not a single empathy for the people. This a regime of suffering and sorrow.
While we stand in absolute solidarity with every Nigerian exercising their constitutional right to protest these agonizing hardships, we are here today to deliver a vital message of strategy and long-term vision. The anger on the streets is justified, but anger alone will not fix our broken economy, rescue our currency, or secure our communities. We must not limit our agitations to mere chants. If we truly want this suffering to end, our grievances must be translated into tangible, decisive action where it matters most: at the ballot box in next year’s presidential election.
We must be ready to vote this administration out. However, voting President Tinubu out is only the first step. It does not completely finish the job. If we vote out a failed system only to replace it with another version of the same ruinous political class, we will find ourselves back on the streets protesting a few years from now.
As Nigerians, we must be deeply intentional, deliberate, and rigorous about who we elect to replace this terrible administration.When we look closely at the political landscape and the lineup for next year’s presidential race, one figure stands completely apart from the rest.
The only presidential candidate who carries absolutely no baggage of scandal, corruption, or betrayal of public trust is the Social Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo. Beyond his unblemished character and integrity, Prince Adewole Adebayo possesses the most workable, realistic, and robust policy frameworks designed to fix Nigeria’s structural failures within four years. His blueprints offer practical solutions to unemployment, food insecurity, economic instability, and national insecurity – driven not by empty political promises, but by a genuine commitment to social justice and economic equity.
FOR instance, he has crafted a master strategy to reduce the pump price petrol to less than five hundred Naira. For the naysayers who lack the revolutionary leadership vision and economic ingenuity, this may look farfetched or another campaign lie. But is not. Prince Adewole Adebayo’s presidency will not only ensure that local refineries – both private and public – get crude in Naira for export. But the crude for local consumption will be given in a 50-50 arrangement with the private refineries. For example, you get 10 thousand barrels of crude free from government. You refine 5,000 barrels free for government, you take the other half as your payment. Government can then afford to sell fuel at very affordable prices to the public. For the media platforms that have challenged our presidential candidate to come and defend his N200 Naira per litre promise, we are still expecting your invitation and we promise that he will show up to defend this policy projection with empirical possibilities.
Therefore, we call on all well-meaning Nigerians, the youth, the civil society organizations, the labor unions, and every citizen who has felt the crushing weight of the APC government’s failures, to look toward the future with a clear alternative.
Let us all, as Nigerians in unison, come together and make Prince Adewole Adebayo our consensus candidate to replace this administration that has profoundly disappointed our people.Let us turn our protests into political power. Let us organize, mobilize, and ensure that the energy on our streets becomes the vote that transforms Nigeria next year to lead us in a new direction different drom the current trajectory of tragedy under Tinubu. Make Prince Adewole Adebayo the consensus candidate of Nigerians, not the consensus flagbearer of a narrow political class. Nigeria deserves a new direction and the pilot of that new direction is Prince Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party.

This is a collective project by every citizen of this great country that needs urgent rescue from retrogressive forces. A new direction for Nigeria is a vote for Prince Adewole Adebayo in 2027
