Earlier on Saturday, a Vanguard correspondent witnessed a white car and a black car at the scene, which appeared to be surrounded by uniformed police officers, although the scene initially suggested an accident. This was at about 11:52 p.m.
Reporting the killing, an X Twitter account NAIJA CONFRA dedicated to reporting and analysing cult activities had posted on April 12 as follows:
Last night, the number 1 man of the Buccaneers (BAN) cult group, named Agali, was k**led in the Iponri area of Surulere. Agali was the biggest, most feared, and most influential figure in the Buccaneers cult in Surulere. He was described as nice, friendly, rich, very influential, rugged, and also feared in the area. He also worked for APC politicians. (Videos on TG)
Reports indicate that Agali was said to be supporting a female candidate in the upcoming election, as opposed to a popular male incumbent candidate in Surulere, and was on the opposing APC side.
Although Buccaneers have confirmed that a particular rival cult group was used to carry out the attack, many have attributed Agali’s de@th to politics. Agali, whose axis was in the Shitta/Akere area, was reportedly sh0t while driving his car in the Iponri area.
Tension is extremely high, as Buccaneers are planning extreme cha0s against the rival group they mentioned and are also vowing vi0lence in the upcoming elections. There is heavy police presence in the area, as residents spotted over 15 police cars this morning. Stay safe.
