APC Hqtrs Dares Ex-Gov Oyetola And Insists Reps Member Wole Oke’s Stands Disqualified

The Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified a member of the House of Representatives for for Obokun-Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State.
from participating in the party’s primary election.

The disqualifier would be ending Oke’s 24 years stay in the Green Chamber.

Political pundits see this as a serious setback for Oke who recently defected to the APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Although the details of his disqualification when he appeared before the committee were still sketchy, APC sources said the decision was sequel to the zoning arrangement within the constituency.

A copy of the disqualification memo, attached to this report, was leaked to journalists in Abuja on Saturday.

Some APC chieftains in Abuja argued that the ticket should be ceded to the to Oriade Local Government Area, and not Obokun, Oke’s home based in the interest of political expediency and fairness.

Source said that after his disqualification, there was jubilation among the rank and file of Osun State APC who have believed that his time was up.

However, despite the loud voice from the APC National Headquarters through the Screening Committee, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, proceeded to anoint him, eliciting wild protest.

APC inside sources say giving the ticket to Wole Oke would be a serious albatross of the party in the 2027 election.

The Osun State APC is therefore calling on President Bola Tinubu to caution Gboyega Oyetola in the interest of peace before the 2027 Polls.

Oke was recently made the Director-General of the APC campaign team for the August 15, 2026, Governorship poll in Osun State.

Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, among other contenders, will be facing Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking re-election.
